  • Centre procures 14.08 percent more paddy on MSP in comparison to last year

    In the current Kharif Marketing Season (KMS) 2020-21, Centre has continued to buy Kharif 2020-21 crops at MSP from farmers accoding to existing MSP Schemes. This year there has been an increase of 14.08 percent against last year’s procurement of 595.77 LMT. Out of the total purchase of 679.65 LMT, Punjab alone has contributed 202.82 LMT that is 29.84 percent of total procurement.

    The Indian Institute of Spices Research or IISR has got patent for a new method of storing as well as delivering microbes through biocapsules. The institute had submitted an application asking for a patent for this in 2013.

    29-year-old Navkiran Natt, who is a dentist by profession, had never thought that she will have to spend three months camping at one of the Delhi borders - the site where farmers are protesting since so many days. Natt has been camping in a tent for 3 months now and is running a makeshift library for the protesting farmers.

  • These Northeast States will witness widespread Rains, Thundershowers from 16-19 March

    The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that there could be fairly widespread rainfall or snowfall in Arunachal Pradesh for the next two days and decrease after that. In addition, isolated thundershowers are likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya from 16-19 March 2021.

  • Centre to create two lakh tonnes of Onion Buffer Stock

    The Centre is planning to obtain 2 lakh tonnes of onions for buffer stock in 2021-22 to prevent the increase in price and ensure easy availability during festive season when generally the supply is tight.
