IMD Issues Orange, Yellow & Red Alerts In Six Districts
On 15th November (Monday), the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an orange alert for 6 districts including, Thrissur, Idukki, Kannur, Kozhikode, Ernakulam & Kasargod of Kerala. It has also issued a yellow alert for the rest of the districts in the Southern State, which has been witnessing heavy rainfall in the past few days. An orange alert denotes heavy rains from 6 am to 20cm of rain. A yellow alert indicates heavy falls between 6cm to 11cm, while a red alert is issued where there is a likelihood of torrential rains over 20cm in 24 hours.

PM Modi Launches Several Welfare Schemes for Tribal’s On Nov 15
On 15th November (Monday) Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a raft of schemes for the tribals’ welfare, including laying the foundation of 50 Eklavya Model Residential Schools across India. PM Modi launched multiple key initiatives for the welfare of the Janjatiya Community at Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas Mahasammelan. He launched the “Ration Aapke Gram” scheme in Madhya Pradesh. He also launched Madhya Pradesh Sickle Cell Mission & laid the foundation of 50 Eklavya Model Residential Schools across the Country.

India Launches 41st Scientific Expedition to Antarctica on Nov 15
On 15th November (Monday), India launched 41st Scientific Expedition to Antarctica with the arrival of the first batch of its contingent at the southern white continent. The first batch comprised of 23 scientists & support staff who reached Indian Antarctica Station Maitri last week. Four more batches will be landing in Antarctica by air using the DROMLAN facility & onboard chartered ice-class vessel MV Vasiliy Golovin by the mid-January 2022; the Ministry of Earth Sciences said this in a statement.
