  • Agri-Business Virtual Expo to Begin on 15 October

    A four-day virtual expo for the agriculture sector - Agri-Business Expo 2020 will start on October 15 and continue till October 18. The Expo will cover agriculture, fishing, animal husbandry, dairy or poultry and food processing sectors. It will highlight the scope as well as opportunities in these sectors that are currently witnessing a positive trend while many other sectors are wilting because of the pandemic.

  • Fincare Small Finance Bank Releases First Loan under PM SVANidhi Scheme to Coconut Seller

    Fincare Small Finance Bank has disbursed its 1st loan under PM Street Vendor’s Atmanirbhar Nidhi Scheme, also known as PM SVANidhi. The scheme is aimed at empowering & enabling the street vendors. The loan of Rs. 10,000 was given to Lakshmamma, a coconut seller in Benguluru.

    India has reported 63,509 new Covid-19 cases and 730 deaths in last 24 hours. Total case tally stands at 72,39,390 including 8,26,876 active cases, 63,01,928 cured/discharged/migrated cases and 1,10,586 deaths.

  • Assam: NRC Authorities to Delete Names of ‘Ineligible Persons’ from Citizens Register

    Authorities of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Assam have ordered the deletion of “ineligible” names from the prepared register, a step coming off the heels of the state government’s persistent stand that a 10-20 per cent re-verification of all included names is necessary in order to get a “correct” register.

     

  • Tejas Express to start operating from October 17  

    India's first private train, Tejas Express will resume services from October 17. Seven months after the services were suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic. Every alternate seat on the two trains- Lucknow-New Delhi and Ahmedabad-Mumbai- will be kept vacant, in order to ensure social distancing, said IRCTC.

    Ahead of Bihar Assembly elections, Loktantrik Janata Dal chief Sharad Yadav’s daughter Subhashini Raj Rao has joined the grand old party in the presence of senior leaders in New Delhi. LJP leader and former Member of Parliament Kali Pandey has too joined the Congress.
