ICAR-CCRI Conducts Training Program for Citrus Farmers of Shajapur District, Madhya Pradesh
ICAR-Central Citrus Research Institute (CCRI), Nagpur organized a two-day training program during 10-11th June, 2024 in the institute for citrus growers of Shajapur district, Madhya Pradesh. A total of 27 trainees from Moman Badodiya, Kalapipal and Shujalpur blocks participated in the program. The training program was organized under the APEDA-sponsored project 'Capacity Development Program on Adoption of Good Agriculture Practices (GAP) for Citrus Farmers.'

'MFOI Samridh Kisan Utsav 2024': Over 200 Farmers Converge in Kondagaon for Agricultural Innovation and Empowerment
On June 14, 2024, Krishi Jagran organized the 'MFOI Samridh Kisan Utsav' at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Kondagaon, Chhattisgarh. This event, sponsored by Mahindra Tractors and supported by Action Construction Equipment Limited (ACE), focused on the theme 'Maximizing Farmers' Income for a Prosperous Bharat.' The objective was to enrich the agricultural community with the latest practices and innovations. The gathering brought together progressive farmers and industry experts to discuss various topics, including farm machinery, agri-equipment, fisheries, and integrated farming.

India's Second Human Bird Flu Case Confirmed by WHO; Know the Implications for the Poultry Industry
Alarms are rising about the virus's implications for public health and the poultry industry. Recently, a case emerged involving a 4-year-old child from West Bengal who initially experienced fever and abdominal pain. Subsequently, the child developed severe respiratory distress and seizures. Despite initial positive tests for influenza B and adenovirus, further diagnostic tests confirmed avian influenza A(H9N2) on May 22, 2024. This development comes after India's first reported human case of avian influenza A(H5N1) in 2019.

India's Wholesale Inflation Jumps to 2.61% in May, Driven by Soaring Prices in Food, Energy Sectors
The annual rate of inflation based on the All India Wholesale Price Index (WPI) rose to 2.61% in May 2024, marking an increase compared to the same period last year. This upward trend was primarily due to higher prices observed across various sectors including food articles, manufactured food products, crude petroleum & natural gas, mineral oils, and other manufacturing categories.
