  • IMD Predicts heavy rainfall in these States till 15th Sep

    On 13th September (Monday), The India Meteorological Department said the current spells of heavy to very rains are likely to continue over Odisha & Chhattisgarh today. Odisha has been battered by the heavy rains in the past few days. Bhubaneswar has received a 195mm rainfall in the past 24hours and broke a 63-years-old record. There is another city “Puri” which broke the 87-years-old record of 341mm of rains in a single day. The weather department has also said that the enhanced rainfall activity of heavy to very heavy rains is likely to continue over Gujarat till 16th of September & over Madhya Pradesh on the 14th & 15thof September.

  • Only 60 lakh tonnes of Paddy Procure by Telangana Government

    The Central government is refusing to purchase the paddy beyond the allocated quota; the State government will now procure only 60 lakh tonnes of paddy through the procurement of the Centers for Vaanakalam (Kharif) season. The officials of the Agriculture Department asked to sensitize the people in this regard. Now, the State government procured the entire yield during the past 3 crops seasons since, Yasangi 2019 – 20 to ensure that the farmers do not suffer the losses due to the Covid pandemic & subsequent lockdown.

  • Contamination of Fluoride Poisoned Agriculture Soil, Crops in Bengal

    West Bengal has been grappling with the contamination of groundwater for decades. About 12% of the population in 8 of the state’s 23 districts is impacted by the water contaminated by fluoride. There is higher contamination in the western parts of a state such as Bankura & Purulia.
