    In recent news, it has been brought to light that a significant number of individuals have been exploiting the system by submitting fraudulent documents to receive the 14th installment of the PM Kisan Yojana. The PM Kisan Yojana, a Union Government initiative started to ensure a respectable life for an Indian farmer, has been misused. It provides financial assistance of Rs. 6,000 per annum per family payable in three equal installments, every four months, to landholder farmer families with total cultivable holding up to 2 hectares. However, many fraudulent activities have come to light while farmers were availing benefits under this scheme.

    India's wheat output would surpass the government's forecast of a record 112.18 million tonnes in the 2022–23 crop year (July–June) due to a predicted increase in crop yields in important growing states, despite unfavourable weather impacting wheat quality in some areas. The crop year 2020–21 produced 109.59 million tonnes of wheat, which was the previous record. For the crop year 2022–2023, the government forecasted wheat production at 112.18 million tonnes in its second estimate, which was released in February.
