Under the OmniX Bio programme, which was first introduced in December 2021, this is Omnivore's third life sciences investment. eFeed has created nutritional supplements for animals that can boost milk production while also enhancing the general health of cattle.   • 14th World Spice Congress to be Held in Mumbai From 16-18 Feb 2023

    India is referred to as the "Spice Bowl" of the world. It produces a wide range of high-quality, rare, and medicinal spices. The 14th World Spice Congress (WSC) will be held in Mumbai from February 16-18, 2023, with the goal of creating new opportunities for the international trade of Indian spices. According to D Sathiyan, Secretary, Spices Board, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, this year's WSC is unique because it coincides with India's G20 presidency. 

     

  • Sugar Prices Remain Unchanged in Maharashtra as Exports Decline

    Sugar ex-mill domestic prices have fallen in Maharashtra in recent days, raising concerns for the industry. Many industry insiders attribute the state's prices hovering at Rs 3,100-3,150/quintal to export saturation and the entry of unaccounted-for sugar into the market. The 2022-23 cane crushing season began on a high note, with domestic ex-mill prices ranging from Rs 3,300 to Rs 3,400 per quintal. International raw sugar prices were above the psychological barrier of 20 cents per pound (roughly Rs 3,500-3.550/quintal). This season, the Centre reinstated the mill-based quota system for the export of 60 lakh tonnes of sugar.
