  • Jagdeep Dhankhar Takes Oath As India's 14th Vice President ‘

    Today Former West Bengal Governor and National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate Jagdeep Dhankhar took oath as India's 14th Vice President. The oath ceremony was administered by President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan. On 6 August, Dhankhar was elected as the Vice President after defeating opposition candidate Margaret Alva. He emerged victorious with 528 votes against Alva's 182. Dhankar's victory margin is the highest in the last six Vice Presidential polls.

    Chandigarh University faculty Dr. Seema Ramnivas and Dr. Divya Singh of the Department for Research and Development develops a bio-insecticide spray to protect fruits from harmful insects and flies which will be effective in preventing rotting of fruits.Dr Divya said the use of chemicals to control fruit fly is harmful to the consumers, as it leaves a toxic residue on the fruits. Bio-pesticide developed by the university will prove to be a boon for consumers and gardeners, because it will not cause any harm to health due to its biological nature.
