  • Light to Moderate Rainfall Expected In the Next 5 Days

    On 10th December (Friday) the India Meteorological Department predicted isolated to scattered light or moderate rainfall activity over the South coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, South Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema, Puducherry & Karaikal, and Kerala & Mage during the next 5 days.

  • Govt Procures Paddy worth Rs 64000 Crore

    The government has procured 325 lakh tonnes of paddy in the 2021-2022 Kharif marketing year at the minimum support price (MSP) for nearly Rs 64,000 crore. “Paddy procurement is progressing smoothly in Kharif Marketing Season (KMS) 2021-22 from the farmers at MSP like it was done in the previous year,” one of an official statements said. The KMS runs from October to September.

  • PM Modi to Inaugurate Irrigation project in UP

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 43-year-old irrigation project in Uttar Pradesh’s Balrampur district on 11th December (Saturday) at around 1 PM. According to PM Modi’s office, the Saryu Nahar National Project will provide the assured water for irrigation of over 14 lakh hectares of land & benefit about 29 lakh farmers of the region.

  • States Can Distribute Jowar & Ragi via Ration Shops

    The Centre has allowed the state government to distribute Jowar & Ragi within 6 & 7 months, respectively from the end of the procurement period against 3 months earlier as part of its efforts to boost the supply of coarse grains through the ration shops & other welfare schemes.
