  • Nano-DAP Gets Government Approval for Commercial Use

    One bottle of Nano-DAP would cost around Rs 600, which is half the price of the traditional 50kg DAP bag it will replace. According to sources, the notification for commercial use will be issued within the next few days. Iffco will initially offer the product to farmers' cooperatives, and Coromandel International has also applied for Nano-DAP approval. Farmers currently pay Rs 1,350 for a bag of conventional DAP at a subsidized price, while the actual cost is Rs 4,000. The difference between the actual cost and the prices farmers pay for each bag of DAP is borne by the central government.   • National Medicinal Plants Board Boosts Conservation & Cultivation of Herbs in India

    The National Medicinal Plants Board (NMPB), a wing of the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, has been actively working towards the conservation, development, and sustainable management of medicinal plants in the country. The NMPB has supported 1498 projects throughout India under the Central Sector Scheme for Conservation, Development, and Sustainable Management of Medicinal Plants. As part of its efforts, the NMPB has supported 103026.32 hectares of land for in-situ and ex-situ conservation and resource augmentation. This includes the establishment of 24,000 herbal gardens, 1175 Joint Forest Management Committees (JFMCs), and 57 nurseries. 

     

  • FMC India Launches Drone Spraying Services for Farmers

    FMC Corporation, a prominent agricultural sciences business, announced the start of drone spraying services for farmers in India today. The drone service, which has been approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the government organisation responsible for the regulation of air transport services in India, is intended to increase farm output while eliminating the need for human labour. The FMC India farmer app, which supports seven regional Indian languages, provides access to FMC's drone spraying services. The service is now accessible in Andhra Pradesh and will be available by the end of the month in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.

     

  • Agro Bihar-2023: Around 500 Farm Machinery Dealers Showcase Their Products

    Agro Bihar-2023 exhibition, which is being co-organized with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), will run until Sunday (February 12). The exhibition has 125 stalls in total, and around 500 agricultural machinery dealers from all districts of the state participated and showcased a varied range of products. Machinery manufacturers from more than ten states have also set up shop at the fair. Aside from agricultural machinery, horticulture equipment, seeds, fertilisers, and processed agricultural products, the exhibition displays and sells them.

     

     

  • Zepto Introduces "Zepto Bloom” a New Farmer Engagement Program

    Zepto, the e-grocery startup that paved the path for 10-minute delivery in India, today announced the debut of its farmer engagement initiative, "Zepto Bloom," as well as a one-of-a-kind app for its partners in the farmer community. Farmers who sell on Zepto will be able to simplify their supplies and yields through this app, which will digitize every step of the process, from seeding to selling. During the launch of the company with onboard farmers from Maharashtra in Manchar, Pune the firm announced that it would be adding over 300 farmers from Maharashtra to the app.
