• Decarbonization Drive: Union Environment Minister Emphasizes Crucial Role in Achieving Net-Zero Emissions by 2070

  In a significant stride towards achieving the ambitious target of net-zero emissions by 2070, set by the Government of India, Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Bhupender Yadav, emphasized the crucial role of decarbonizing the transport sector. Speaking at a side event on the India-US ‘Payment Security Mechanism (PSM)’ for e-buses, the minister underscored the importance of transitioning to electric vehicles (EVs), particularly prioritizing electric buses for mass public transportation.

• PM-KUSUM Scheme: IREDA Launches Retail Division, Sanctions First Loan

  In a strategic move to bolster its support for renewable energy initiatives, the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA) announced the launch of its retail division on December 5, 2023. This new division is dedicated to providing loans in sectors such as the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) scheme, Rooftop Solar, and various Business-to-Consumer (B2C) segments.
