• Nation celebrates Guru Tegh Bahadur's 400th birth anniversary on Parkash Purab

  PM Modi in his tweet has bowed to Guru Tegh Bahadur, celebrating his birth anniversary on Parkash Purab. The ninth guru never bowed to anyone and fought all evils and injustices of the society. His life continues to inspire all of us.

• Protesting Farmers refuse COVID tests

  Government of Haryana had asked the protesting farmers if they can be tested for COVID, but they all refused claiming that mis-information could be spread which would damage their cause.

• Tariff value of Agri and other commodities amended by Government

  Indian Government has amended tariff for a number of commodities including agricultural commodities like Palm Oils, Soya Bean Oil, Areca nuts among others.

• Quality Standards defined for four more spices

  The Codex Committee on Spices and Culinary Herbs has defined Quality Standards for four more spices including ginger, basil, cloves and oregano. These standards are applicable for the dried forms of these spices and once adapted by Codex Alimentarius Commission these will be the final Codex standards.

• Parts of Sikkim and Telangana to receive heavy rainfall

  Norther Sikkim and a number of districts of Telangana including Adilabad, Ranga Reddy, Kamareddy, Nirmal will face thunderstorms and heavy rainfall today.

• Cargill carriers reduce their carbon emissions

  The sea carriers are responsible for 3 percent of the world's carbon emissions. Cargill's carriers have been working on reducing the pollution that they cause and since 2017 have managed to reduce their carbon emissions by 1.5 MT.

• GMO out, Gene edited technology in

  Genetically Modified Organisms which include veggies are banned in the European Union. However, EU is considering the Gene Edited technology based crops as these are developed in a different way.

• Better weather results in more maize for South Africa

  South Africa is expecting to harvest 5 percent more maize than it did last year. The reason is the weather which has been excellent for the crops.

• You must be Corona negative to board flights to USA

  US Government has told its airlines to board only Corona negative individuals. All travelers need to show a negative test result, with the test conducted in under 3 days prior to boarding the flight.

• US Aid arrives in India

  Humanitarian aid from USA, to tackle Corona pandemic, has started landing on Indian airports. The first shipment has arrived in India and more are expected.
