  • Farmers Must Adopt Best Agricultural Practices to Maximise Output: Narendra Singh Tomar

    Union Agriculture & Farmers' Welfare Minister Narendra Singh Tomar has asked the farmers to adopt best agricultural practices in order to maximise the productivity in the ongoing Kharif season. Tomar in a letter to the farmers of India, said that with beginning of monsoon, sowing of Kharif crops are in progress.

  • UGC to Announce Final Year Exam Guidelines Today; Uttar Pradesh College Exam Guidelines Expected on July 2

    University Grants Commission (UGC) is expected to release the new guidelines for the final year examination for universities as well as colleges today i.e. 1st July. The UP government is also likely to release a guideline for its university examinations tomorrow (2nd July) based on UGC guidelines that will be issued today.

    MHRD had told another committee few days back to suggest a revised set of guidelines based on the current Coronavirus crisis and keeping in mind the COVID-19 situation in different states. The current committee was supposed to consult different professional bodies including AICTE, Bar Council of India, Pharmacy Council, Architecture Council etc.

  • IIT Madras introduces New Data Science Online Degree

    The Indian Institute of Technology, Madras has introduced a new data science online degree on 30th June 2020. It is the first of its kind BSc Degree in Programming & Data Science that the students can access from any place. Dr Ramesh Pokhariyal, HRD Minister in twitter congratulated the institute for introducing its first-ever BSc online course. This programme will be helpful for students who want to make their careers in Programming & Data Science.

    The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, popularly known as ICAI is India’s national professional accounting body. ICAI was established on 1st July, 1949 by the Parliament of India. Hence every year on 1st July, National CA day is celebrated all across the country. The day is celebrated to respect and honour all the Chartered Accountants.

  • National Dairy Development Board Promotes use of 'Pashu Ayurveda' to Control Animal Diseases

    The Indian dairy industry is encouraging the use of ‘pashu ayurveda’ (ethno-veterinary medicine) in order to help control animal diseases and reduce the chances of pathogens jumping from them to human beings, as in the case of Covid-19. Buffaloes and cattle account for more than 50 percent of the livestock population in the country, according to the latest census.

    NDDB or National Dairy Development Board is aggressively promoting the use of ethno-veterinary medicine after receiving success in a pilot project that was run at Sabarkantha dairy in Gujarat.

  • India Witnesses Above Average Monsoon Rain in June

    India this year has witnessed 18% more rainfall than average in the month of June as the monsoon covered the entire country almost two weeks earlier than usual, according to the weather office. It must be noted that monsoon rains deliver about 70% of India's annual rainfall.

    Pulses, soybean, and cotton-growing areas in central & western India saw 31% more rainfall last month, while rubber, rice, coffee, and tea growing southern part of India saw 8% higher rainfall, as per the India Meteorological Department.
