  • IYM 2023: Maharashtra Govt Forms Panel for Millet Year Action Plan

    The Maharashtra government formed a 14-member committee on Friday, led by the Additional Chief Secretary (Cooperation and Marketing), to develop an action plan for various programmes and their implementation in the state to commemorate the International Year of Nutritious Cereals 2023.

     

  • PM National Apprenticeship Mela to be Held in 242 Districts on January 9, 2023

    The Pradhan Mantri National Apprenticeship Mela (PMNAM) will be held on January 9, 2023, across 242 districts in 28 Indian states and union territories, as part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision to increase career opportunities for India's youth through the Skill India Mission. Several local businesses and organizations have been invited to participate in this apprenticeship mela, which aims to provide relevant opportunities for local youth to shape their careers through apprenticeship training. Many companies from a variety of industries will be present at the event. 

     

  • "Fertilizer Plant to be Operational By October 2024 in Odisha's Talcher": Mansukh Mandaviya

    Odisha government has tasked Talcher Fertilizers Ltd with reviving FCIL's former Talcher plant by constructing a new coal gasification-based urea plant with an installed capacity of 12.7 lakh tonne per annum (LMTPA). Coal gasification plants are strategically important because coal prices are stable and domestic coal is abundant.

     

  • USDA Approves Use of World’s 1st Vaccine for Honey Bees

    The United States has approved the use of the world's first honey bee vaccine. It was designed to protect bee colonies from American foulbrood disease, a bacterial infection that attacks bee larvae and weakens colonies. The vaccine could be a breakthrough in honey bee protection," according to Dalan Animal Health CEO Annette Kleiser. It works by introducing an inactive version of the bacteria into the royal jelly fed to the queen, resulting in immunity for the queen's larvae.

     

  • WAMUL Hosts Calf Show to Highlight Artificial Insemination Benefits in Assam

    The West Assam Milk Producers Cooperative Union Limited (WAMUL), also known as Purabi Dairy, held a mega calf show in Pathsala on Saturday to highlight the efficacy and benefits of artificial insemination. Assam's agriculture and dairy minister, Atul Bora, Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass, and Cooperation Minister Nandita Gorlosa all attended the day-long event. Meenesh C Shah, Chairman of the NDDB, also attended as a special guest.
