KJ Choupal: Pravat Kumar Roul, VC of OUAT Discusses Significance of Agri Media for Development of Agriculture Sector
Pravat Kumar Roul is the vice-chancellor of Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) Bhubaneswar. He has been a teacher for over 29 years. He has written 24 books and supervised nine PhD students. Professor Roul visited KJ Chaupal on March 6, 2023 to speak with the team and share his thoughts and vision for the advancement of the agriculture sector. "Farmers have not been fairly compensated. Their children have no desire to work in agriculture and have no desire to be associated with it. This mindset got to be changed," underlines PK Roul while speaking about the role of agri media and the relevance of knowledge, which he believes can bring this change!

Deepak Shah Received 'Hurun Most Respected Entrepreneurs Awards' for His Outstanding Contribution in Agriculture Sector
Hurun India hosted the 10th edition of the 'Hurun Most Respected Entrepreneurs Awards' in Mumbai, in which many prominent industry figures participated. Deepak Shah, Chairman of Sulphur Mills Limited, was recognized for his outstanding contribution to agriculture. “Extreme Heat to Reduce Fruit, Vegetable & Flower Production By 30%,” says IIHR Director
High temperatures reduce yields in major food crops, which is a major concern for agricultural productivity. Because of rising temperatures and crop decay, the country's fruit and vegetable production is expected to fall by up to 30% this season. According to mango farmers in the country, the unexpected early arrival of summer has resulted in a massive flower and fruit drop. Experts predict that the shift in climatic patterns will have a significant impact on the production of fruits such as watermelons, bananas, lychee, citrus, and cashew crops.

PM Modi Asks FCI to be Ready to Ensure Optimal Grain Storage in Case of Extreme Weather
Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level meeting earlier today at his residence, 7 LKM, to review preparations for hot weather this summer. The Prime Minister was briefed on the weather forecast for the next few months and the likelihood of a normal monsoon by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). He was also briefed on the weather's impact on Rabi crops and the expected yield of major crops.

World's 1st Bamboo Crash Barrier 'Bahu Balli' Installed in Maharashtra
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari recently announced the installation of a 200-meter-long bamboo crash barrier on a highway connecting the Maharashtra districts of Chandrapur and Yavatmal, calling it the "world's first" such exercise. Gadkari described the crash barrier as a "remarkable achievement" for the country and its bamboo sector, saying it is a great alternative to steel and addresses environmental concerns.
