Narendra Singh Tomar Meets Melinda Gates; Launches 'Agriculture Investment Portal'
Melinda French Gates, the co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, met with Narendra Singh Tomar, the union minister for agriculture and farmers' welfare, today in New Delhi. Tomar inaugurated the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare's integrated "Agriculture Investment Portal" during the meeting. In the meeting, Tomar stated that the government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has given women farmers their full attention. In the meeting, Tomar stated that the government of India is consistently working effectively under the direction of Prime Minister Modi to address the numerous challenges in the agricultural sector. He claimed there are more small farmers in the nation than ever before.

"22 crore Soil Health Cards Distributed to Farmers Across the Country": Tomar
Narendra Singh Tomar, Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, officially inaugurated the National Conference on Soil Health Management for Sustainable Farming. On this occasion, Tomar stated that soil fertility is eroding as a result of chemical farming and other factors, and that climate change will be a major concern for both the nation and the rest of the world. He claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is concerned about climate change, periodically draughts, and keeps working on plans. He asserted that the Sustainable Development Goals will be attained by Prime Minister Modi.

GADVASU Organizes International Training on Fertility Augmentation in Buffaloes
The International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) sponsored the international training programme that will be attended by nine veterinary officers/livestock development officers/scientists from various Nepalese organizations. This training programme will focus on improving and updating Nepalese officers' knowledge of buffalo reproduction and related issues such as delayed puberty, anestrus, seasonal breeding, infertility, uterine torsion, uterine infections, and so on.

PM Kisan: 6.65 Lakh Farmers Missed Benefits of the Scheme; Know Why?
Latest update on PM Kisan: The Central government had asked all the beneficiaries of PM Kisan to update their e-KYC or else they may not get the benefits of the scheme. As per media reports, as many as 6.65 lakh farmers in Telangana did not receive the financial assistance under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana due to failure in updating the e-KYC (know your customer). The reasons for not updating the e-KYC were lack of awareness among the beneficiaries and carelessness of the agriculture department in ensuring that farmers complete their details.

ICAR-CIFRI Celebrates World Soil Day 2022 in Presence of Eminent Scientists, Farmers
On Monday, ICAR-CIFRI observed World Soil Day under the theme "Soils: Where the food begins", in presence of distinguished scientists, professors of soil science, and 50 farmers. While ICAR-CIFRI Director Dr. B.K. Das underlined the necessity for a balanced use of manures, fertilizers, other chemicals, and soil health maintenance during his inaugural speech, Dr. J. C. Tarafdar, a former National Fellow and Principal Scientist at ICAR-CAZRI, gave an informative lecture on "Nanofertilizer: Key Player for Global Food Production" as the event's guest of honor.

“Millets Could Address Global Concerns of Malnutrition, Food Security”: Piyush Goyal
While addressing the "Millets-Smart Nutritive Food" Conclave in New Delhi on Tuesday, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, and Textiles Piyush Goyal said that India must work hard to become the 'Global Capital of Millets'. According to the minister, the food conclave and the first international millets buyer-seller meet, which are taking place concurrently, will help the nation to get ready for the "International Year of Millets 2023". He further said that the UN has approved 2023 as the International Year of Millets at India's request, which received support from over 70 nations. He further mentioned India's leadership in the G20 and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), saying that these roles amply demonstrated India's rising prestige on the international stage.
