  • Dept of Animal Husbandry & Dairying Hosts Open Discussion with Pastoralists at ICAR-NRCC in Bikaner, Rajasthan

    Today at ICAR-NRCC in Bikaner, Rajasthan, the department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying hosted an open discussion with the pastoralist community of Western Rajasthan. Parshottam Rupala, Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying, spoke as the event's chief guest. The programme started with tree plantation and inauguration of 'Camel product processing utilization and training wing'. As part of the programme, an open discussion on the issues and challenges faced by camel, goat, and sheep rearing pastoralists was held, followed by an award ceremony.

     

     

  • World's 1st Bamboo Crash Barrier 'Bahu Balli' Installed in Maharashtra

    Union Minister Nitin Gadkari recently announced the installation of a 200-meter-long bamboo crash barrier on a highway connecting the Maharashtra districts of Chandrapur and Yavatmal, calling it the "world's first" such exercise. Gadkari described the crash barrier as a "remarkable achievement" for the country and its bamboo sector, saying it is a great alternative to steel and addresses environmental concerns.

     

  • Kashi Vishwanath Temple to Offer ‘Sri Anna Prasadam’ to Devotees to Promote Millets

    Women self-help groups (WSHGs) have begun making Sri Anna Prasadam (offering) for the Kashi Vishwanath temple, as part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's initiative to support millets. Sri Anna Prasadam, which is made with millets, jaggery, sesame, cashew, almond, pure ghee, and khoya, is now available to devotees at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple. At the Kashi Vishwanath temple, this Sri Anna Prasadam is offered to the Lord. According to a government press release, the sale of 'Sri Anna Prasadam' has begun at Kashi Vishwanath temple at the request of the UP government.

    Stanley Black and Decker Tools' outdoor division conducted north region Dealers Meet in New Delhi on Saturday, wherein the machinery giant MTD launched 30 of its products for farmers and homemakers, in their agriculture and cleaning segment.   • Govt to Double Down on Rice & Millet Due to Heat Threat to Wheat Yield

    The central government has doubled down on paddy purchases to tide over any shortages and has advised the millet-growing states to draw up intricate networks to buy the hardy crops in case of scarcity. According to procurement strategies put in place, the central government will get by with enough stock of rice and millet to cover the country's food security demands since it is aware of the high likelihood of heatwaves over food-bowl states and their potential impact on the wheat harvest.
