  • Agriculture Minister Tomar meets Rajnath Singh ahead of talks with farmers

    Ahead of crucial talks with farmers on Monday, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar on Sunday met Defence Minister Rajnath Singh for discussions.

    The protesting farmers have already given an ultimatum regarding intensifying their agitation if the talks failed, even as the government is trying to strike a middle path for the resolution of the issue.


  • Justice Muralidhar takes oath as Orissa HC Chief Justice

    Justice S. Muralidhar took oath as the 32nd Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court on Monday. He was administered the oath of office by Governor Professor Ganeshi Lal at Raj Bhawan here.

    Justice Muralidhar succeeded Justice Mohammad Rafiq, who has been transferred and appointed as the new Chief Justice of Madhya Pradesh High Court. Justice Muralidhar was serving as a judge at the Punjab and Haryana High Court before his elevation to Orissa High Court as the Chief Justice.

  • Night temperatures rise as rain, snow lash J&K, Ladakh

    Moderate snowfall in plains and heavier ones in the higher reaches covered the Kashmir Valley in a white blanket on Monday as the weather office said inclement weather will likely continue during the next 24 hours till Tuesday.

    "Although there is no likelihood of any heavy snowfall in the two UTs during the next 24 hours yet inclement weather will continue in both regions during this period," an official of the MET department said. The Srinagar-Jammu highway is closed for traffic due to heavy snowfall in the Bannihal sector.

  • Round 7: Farmers harden stand ahead of talks with Centre

    Ahead of the seventh round of talks with the Centre on Monday, the farmers have hardened their stand on the demand for repealing the three farm laws.

    The agitating farmers have already announced to take out a tractor parade towards Delhi on January 26, which is the Republic Day, besides a series of programmes in a bid to intensify their protest.

  • Farmers' agitation continues for 39th day amid biting cold, rain

    Even as farmers' agitation on the Delhi borders continued for the 39th day on Sunday amid harsh cold and rain, the protesters were adamant that they would protest till the government withdrew the three new farm laws.

    Harinder Singh Lakhowal, General Secretary of Bharatiya Kisan Union (Lakhowal), told that despite inclement weather, farmers were not ready to leave the protest site, but rather another group of farmers from Punjab would join the protesters on Sunday. Talking about their problems owing to rain, Harinder Singh said that water had accumulated in tents set up by farmers at protest sites, but they won't move away from roads. He said that they are arranging for more waterproof tents to tackle rain.

  • Result of Civil Services Examination, 2019-Reserve List

    The result of the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2019 was declared vide Press Note dated 04.08.2020 recommending 829 candidates in order of merit for appointment to IAS, IFS, IPS and Central Services Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ against 927 vacancies.

    The candidature of following 04 (four) candidates bearing Roll No. 0404736, 0835241, 2100323 and 6603686 are provisional. The result of one candidate has been kept withheld. The list of these 89 candidates is also available on the UPSC website i.e. http//www.upsc.gov.in.
