  • Joe Biden Announces Key Regional Appointments for U.S. Department of Agriculture

    The names of individuals who will hold senior staff positions in Washington, D.C., were announced today by the United States Department of Agriculture. Regina Black has served as Chief of Staff for Trade and Foreign Agricultural Affairs. She was the Director of the Executive Office at the United States Dairy Export Council before joining the Department. Black previously worked at USDA in various capacities during the Obama Administration, including Special Assistant to the Deputy Secretary and Acting Deputy Chief of Staff for the Foreign Agricultural Service. 

     

  • Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare & The Development Innovation Lab Partner to Improve Food Security & Double Farmer's Income

    Chicago-based The Development Innovation Lab (DIL) will help DA&FW in its efforts to identify, develop, test, and refine innovations in food security, climate change, increasing farmers' income, and other priority areas, to support India’s smallholder farmers. The Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare has entered into a partnership with The Development Innovation Lab (DIL) at the University of Chicago founded by Nobel Laurite Dr. Michael Kremer, founder of DIL, University Professor in Economics at the University of Chicago, and 2019 co-recipient of the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel, represented by University of Chicago trust in India, on February 3rd, 2023 at Krishi Bhawan, New Delhi, to explore the opportunities to harness innovation to improve food security, address climate change, and allow farmers to increase their incomes. 

     

  • One Expo Organic North East 2023 Organized by Govt of Assam & SIMFED Kickstarts in Guwahati Today

    With a focus on the North East, the International Conference & Exhibition for the Organic Sector at Expo One aims to disseminate knowledge about organic farming, cutting-edge breakthroughs, possible applications for digitization, and cutting-edge technologies. The Expo Organic North East 2023 kickstarted today in Khanapara, Guwahati, and will go on till February 5, 2023. The Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North Eastern Region (MOVCDNER) is in charge of organizing the expo. 

     

  • Bayer Organizes National Conference to Educate Farmers About Nematodes

    Bayer, a global enterprise with core competencies in agriculture and healthcare life sciences, recently hosted the first-ever national conference on 'Plant Parasitic Nematodes' in Bengaluru. Distinguished industry leaders, Bayer representatives, and more than 70 eminent nematologists from across the country attended the conference.
