WHO Proposes New Amendments to Enhance Global Health Security
The WHO Working Group on Amendments to the International Health Regulations (WGIHR) recently held its eighth meeting towards improving global health security. The amendments that were discussed and decided upon were intended to strengthen the ability of the international community to identify and respond pandemic threats. The meeting, which began on April 22 and ended on April 27 with a temporary adjournment, laid the groundwork for important advancements in the reshaping of the International Health Regulations (IHR) framework.

Global Efforts Intensify in Crafting New Climate Finance Goal from Billions to Trillions
Recently, a significant phase in the continuing international efforts to combat climate change began in Cartagena, Colombia. Nearly 300 representatives, comprising a diverse mix of Parties and non-Party stakeholders, gathered for the ninth technical expert dialogue (TED9) and the first meeting under the ad hoc work programme on the new collective quantified goal on climate finance (NCQG).

ICAR- IIOR Organized Awareness Program on Crop Residue Management for Land Restoration and Enhancing Organic Carbon
ICAR-Indian Institute of Oilseeds Research (IIOR) organized an insightful awareness program on Crop Residue Management as a part of World Environment Day (LiFE for Environment) celebrations. The event held on May 30, 2024, aimed at land restoration and boosting organic carbon levels in Tirumalapur Village, Shabad Mandal, Ranga Reddy district, Telangana. It was attended by members of the Sugunamala Farmers Producers Organization.

In a big step forward for agriculture, IFFCO has just secured approval for its Nano Zinc and Nano Copper liquids under the Fertiliser (Inorganic, Organic, Mixed) Control Order. These nano-formulations are designed to address zinc and copper deficiencies in agriculture, aiming to boost crop yields, enhance crop quality, and reduce micronutrient malnutrition around the world.
