CGIAR Crop Technologies Achieve Cumulative Impact of USD 1,334 Billion: Report
The cumulative economic impact of crop technologies developed by the CGIAR (Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research) has reached a surprising USD 1,334 billion from 1961 to 2020, according to a new peer-reviewed report. MSPs Ensured 50% Minimum Return for Kharif and Rabi Crops Over Cost of Production: RBI
In its recent Annual Report, Reserve Bank of India (RBI) stated that the Minimum Support Prices (MSPs) for the kharif and rabi seasons of 2023-24 ensured a minimum return of 50% over the cost of production for all crops. As of March 31, 2024, the overall public stock of foodgrains stood at 2.9 times the total quarterly buffer norm, indicating robust reserves.

Mahindra’s Farm Equipment Sector Sells 35237 Units in India during May 2024
Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.’s Farm Equipment Sector (FES), part of the Mahindra Group, today announced its tractor sales numbers for May 2024. Domestic sales in May 2024 were at 35237 units, as against 33113 units during May 2023.

ICAR-IIOR Hosts Castor Seed Mela and Farmer-Scientist Interaction in Andhra Pradesh
On May 30, 2024, ICAR-Indian Institute of Oilseeds Research (IIOR), in collaboration with the Agricultural Research Station in Anantapuramu and Acharya N. G. Ranga Agricultural University (ANGRU), Hyderabad, organized a Castor Seed Mela and Farmers-Scientists Interaction event at Rekulakunta, Anantapuramu, Andhra Pradesh. This initiative aimed to promote the cultivation of castor seeds and enhance farmer-scientist interactions for improved agricultural practices.
